8. Where will the Gustav Mahler Academy take place?
Lessons and rehearsals take place in the Conservatorio Monteverdi, the Istituto Musicale Vivaldi as well as in the Auditorium in Bolzano. In Toblach all activities take place at the Kulturzentrum Toblach. All venues are in walking distance from the various hotels.
9. How will it be decided whether I will sing the Rückert Lieder in concert with Sir John Eliot Gardiner?
The performance of the Rückert Lieder will be divided among all singers, so that each singer will sing at least one song in the concert. The final decision about who will sing which song will be made during the academy in consultation between the teachers and the conductor. There is no entitlement to a specific song or to a concert performance in general.
10. What other songs will I sing?
The repertoire for the chamber concerts will be announced in the spring. The selected participants can also make repertoire suggestions as long as they fit the general repertoire, i.e. songs by Sibelius or from the Russian repertoire.
