Special Prizes

In addition to traditional cash prizes for the top six candidates, the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition Foundation awards several special prizes in collaboration with a number of concert bodies, cultural associations and affiliated foundations, including concerts at prestigious international musical institutions.

Junior Jury Prize
A jury of 50 piano students of the music schools of Trentino-South Tyrol has the possibility to award a special prize during the solo finals. The winner will perform in a recital/conference in the next edition of the Busoni Festival.

Audience Prize
Awarded by the Friends of the Busoni Competition
Euro 3.000,00*
The Busoni Competition subscribers and the Friends of the Busoni Compeition are given the opportunity to express their views about who most deserves to receive First Prize through a ballot collected in the hall on the evening of the Grand Finale with orchestra.

Alice Tartarotti Prize
Awarded by the Alice Tartarotti Foundation
The Tartarotti Foundation, will award a special prize to the winner of the Busoni Prize or to the best ranked finalist.

Special prize for the interpretation of contemporary piano music
The award is linked with the performance of contemporary piano music (mandatory piano work of the solo final test). The winner will perform in a concert at the “Matinées du piano” of the Concours International de piano d’Orléans.

Keyboard Trust Career Development Prize
Awarded by The Keyboard Charitable Trust
Awarded to the winner of the Busoni Prize, the prize is a debut concert at Steinway Hall in London. If the Busoni Prize is not awarded, the Keyboard Trust members have the option of choosing another candidate among the 27 competition participants.

Haydn Orchestra – Nippon Artists
Awarded by Haydn Orchestra – In cooperation with Nippon Artists
The Haydn Orchestra will offer to the winner of the Busoni Prize a concert tour in Japan in 2021.

Steinway Prizewinners Concerts
Steinway & Sons, exclusive partner of the Busoni Competition, will organize performances in various festivals and concert halls.

Schoenfeld International String Competition – Concerts Network
The Busoni Competition and Schoenfeld International String Competition, Harbin, will organize various concerts in China in 2020/2021.
